DO NOT RENT AN APARTMENT HERE!!!!!

First off, they staff is extremely unorganized, rude, and they have a tenancy to lie. I had applied to move into an apartment for the fall semester (move in date of 8/28/2015) months in advance ( applied March 2015). The at FIRST told me my application would take several months to process, and i wouldn't hear anything back from them until June. I thought that was odd, but I just went along with it thinking there wouldn't be a problem since they told me I was one of the first to apply for the upcoming fall semester. I didn't hear from them the entire month of June, so I decided to call them the first week of July to call and follow up with my application. They told me they needed another week or two to process all the applications, so I waited two weeks with no response. I gave them a call again and they told me the same thing again, they needed a week or two to process the applications. This happened 3 or 4 times, and it got to the point where i was calling them weekly to see what the status is. It wasn't until mid August they called me and told me they had a unit ready and that they were going to be sending me a lease agreement via e-mail in a few days. I never received a lease agreement and i called repeatedly and they kept telling me the exact same thing, they have my apartment ready for me to move in and they are about to send me the lease agreement. The week before my move in, i was calling them everyday to make sure everything was set before i moved all my things down (I was moving from north Dallas and had several friends helping me and i wanted to make sure i wasn't going to dive all my things down there to not have an apartment ready).

moving day finally came. I called them before i left Dallas to ensure my unit is ready to which they told me its been ready for me. When i get there, the office if full of other residents trying to move in who all look rather unhappy. come to find out, the reason why was because they lied to me and multiple other people. There were more than 10 people who they had told they had apartments ready, but when they got there, they didn't. They decided to move me, and the other people waiting on apartments into temporary apartments. i was placed in a 4 bedroom with 4 other guys (5 people in a 4 bedroom apartment) for what they originally told me was only going to be 2 or 3 days. I went to do some investigating on the unit i was supposed to be moving into and i find out that there are people still living in it and that their lease wasn't up for another week. They lied to me and everyone else saying they had our units ready, and i still had to pay rent for the almost 2 weeks spent in a temporary apartment.

when i FINALLY got into the unit I was leasing (got into it late in the afternoon), i find it completely trashed, and clearly not cleaned so i start cleaning out a bunch of things and made a large pile in my living room of all the stuff that wasn't mine so i could have them come take it out they next day. the following morning, i wake up at 8am to 3 service men standing in my apartment trying to communicate with me (they didn't speak English well) telling me they needed to clean and that i needed to leave. Who thought it was a good idea to move me into the unit before they cleaned it?!?

another big issue I have with the apartments is that they lied to me about the pet deposit. during one of the multiple phone calls i had with the apartment office prior to me moving in, i had asked them about their pet policy and if i could have fish tanks and a cat. They tole me yes and that i don't have to pay a pet deposit. I got a call today saying that they found a cat in my apartment which violates my lease and that i immediately need to go pay a pet deposit. When I tried to tell them someone had told me there wasn't a pet deposit their reply was "well I'm telling you now".

other cons: horrible internet connection, horrible/nasty furniture, horrible TV connection, old/nasty appliances, and getting something fixed is impossible.
